Essay: The Town of Harappa

According to Meadow & Kenoyer (2001), the town of Harappa occupied an area of 25 hectares and was built on top of mud-brick platforms which were elevated to form the foundation. The town structure was such that there were large buildings used for public services, houses for the locals, craft shops as well as those centers allocated for trade.

All these were constructed in the same area but separated by walls. The roads were very broad with small thin lanes which branched off leading to the shops and other areas.
