In principle, a family, particularly a nuclear family, composed of a father, mother and children, serve as the first school of moral learning. As such, children should learn from their parents first before they can learn from others.
It would be pointless to give birth to a child, then literally watch him/her grow without telling her anything, even buy her good things such that the child’s needs are well met, but then fail to educate her.
A parent may say that she does not need to do that after all she will send her children to school. She indicates that the responsibility of educating the child is for the teachers in school. This is a wrong perception of deed and negligence of duty of the highest order. To reiterate, parents are the first assigned teachers of their children if they wish their children to fit into any education system.
