However, this may not be accurately true as the whole concept of juvenile delinquency encompasses any kind of law breaking by the young adults who may not be necessarily children but young adults (Larry& Brandon 2008). The age at which one is considered a juvenile varies with states, with some of them describing the age up to adolescence that might go up to early twenties. Therefore, juvenile delinquency is universally described as any form of law-breaking by children or adolescents (57).
Youth crime has attracted a lot of attention from both old and modern societies, with different quotas, such as politicians and the media showing a lot of concerns. The phenomenon has many theoretical explanations that have driven most policymaking processes to curb juvenile delinquency (Larry & Brandon, 2008).
This paper will focus on two theories and how they relate to juvenile delinquency, finally focusing on how the most appropriate policy-related steps can be taken.
The major resources are feminism and rational choice theories. The two have a very significant stake in the trends of juvenile offenses, and closer analysis further reveals that they are very instrumental for legislators tasked with coming up with laws targeted at young adult offenses (ibid).
