Low yields were a problem that gave me the challenge of business decision-making. Among the possible solutions available were;
- Improve the quality of the seed.
- Increase the quantity of the fertilizer applied.
- Raising the salaries of the farm workers.
- Applying the foliar fertilizers after flowering.
After considering the qualitative effects of the four alternatives, this involved estimating the total yields, the alternative which had the highest yields was to increase the quantity of the fertilizer applied, followed by applying the foliar fertilizers after flowering, improve the quality of the seed and raising the salaries of the farm workers had the least yield.
The quantitive effects show that the alternative with the highest yields did not boost the morale of the farm workers, while the alternative with the least yield positively impacted the workers’ morale.
