Essay: The natives Cherokees

The Supreme Court realized that the Cherokees had the right to live in Georgia. However, since the senate had already ratified the treaty, it meant that there was no going back. The United States government wanted to fulfill a promise that it made to Georgia in 1802. The government did not care about the feelings of the Cherokees although they were the natives of the land they were forced to leave. The natives Cherokees who advocated for the removal are traitors because they should not have supported such an inhumane act. This is the reason why the aggrieved Cherokees later murdered Major Ridge together with his son. Resistances were common before the actual removal began but in the end, they occurred.
