A type 1 error will result should the company reject the possibility of the quantity of the products being small in amount while the truth is that they are actually below the indicated amount. The clients may have sincerely observed that the quantity does not satisfy the amount indicated and thereby the executive wing of the company may be wrong in stating that they exceed the stated level. This automatically leads to type 1 error.
However, should the the statistician’s data show that the company is right then this will result in type 11 error. In other words, I may fail to reject the possibility of our clients being wrong and instead, support the view of the company. This will lead to the situation whereby instead of sticking with other managers position regarding the possibility of the paints being more than the indicated amount, I opt to defend the clients.
