The government of the state and particularly the city is well aware of the fact that the residents and the workers in the city are the key elements that derive this metropolitan city and make it famous across the world. Keeping the fact in mind the government decided to take the responsibility of the working-class families and mainly the unemployed people to fulfill their nutritional requirements.
This is regarded as an American food stamp program called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP. This program proudly caters to the nutritional requirements of cities across America but the share expands to 38% in New York, which makes up about 1.7 million residents. But as a matter of fact, the food stamps are not fulfilling their designated purpose. This implies that the usage of the food stamp is being also valid for the purchase of soda and other sugary liquors.
This issue is a continuous worry for the government as the analysis and statics show that the major portion of the purchases is made for sugary and soda drinks. The consumption of sugary and soda drinks is a vital reason for diabetes and obesity and the lower class due to this ground reality unawareness is more prone to these diseases.
