Teaching and learning can be a monotonous undertaking if there a language barrier exists between the involved parties (Darr, 2000, p. 7). As much as schools are expected to impart knowledge, the process of learning should be enjoyable and to enhance understanding and commitment to the process.
These are among a few factors that have contributed to establishment of Arab schools in the UK, which teach in Arab as a first language despite the fact that this country is English speaking. Most of British-Muslims express their wish to have their children educated at Muslim-only schools Most of the Youth with Arabic origin are determined to be different and separate from the rest of the nation including schooling. Their belief and freedom of speech and how war on terror is fought back at their home contributes to conflicted interests with their UK counterparts (Butt, 2008, p.13), beliefs that make language difference a liability to the country.
