This I believe should be worked on because failure to note important points during counseling might prevent my progress during placement as I will have no reference points of previous sessions and hence will be forced to keep repeating what we did in past sessions. There is also a possibility that I might face some bit of reluctance when it comes a time when I must do some self-reflection on my experiences and practice.
Self reflection is very important not only during my placement period, but also in my years of professionalism so as to evaluate my improvements and where I need to put more effort as I practice (Cleak, 2007). During self reflection, it is also important to keep going through your action plan as you work, so you can make sure you make the necessary changes to ensure the plan maintains its relevance (Kiser, 2000).
