Prejudice is believed to be more prevalent in young adults because of high likelihood of interaction than adults are. However, this perception and understanding has been shade on light by Fiona et al. (2009). In this study, research revealed that youths in adolescent age at lower level of schooling are more prejudiced than youths at higher level of learning like higher education.

The authors present a detailed underlying factor that is worth examining in the sense that in their sample two cohorts exhibited different levels of prejudice. For instance, youths at lower level of education like high school are more prejudiced than youths in higher education. This is an indicator, higher level of cognitive maturity seem to be the controlling factor.
