Essay: Nigeria Vs England-Hotel Industry; Cultural Practices

Sample Essay

The rich cultural practices in the country (Nigeria), have however been playing against the development of the hotel industry. While England greatly thrives on an environment that is full of people who are outgoing and would like to have good time in hotels and share meals together while on leisure time on very regular basis, Nigeria has a rather more conservative population. The West African country’s strong cultural practices do not act in favor of the hotel industry. Indeed most people prefer cooking their meals and sharing the meals in the family and society set up. The few that goes to hotels are mainly on the rare business trips and thus the hotel visitations are based on their official duties. This is indeed a direct contrast to the Hotel Industry people (Fields 2005). The English people and the many clients who visit their hotels mainly from Europe are not conservative and prefer going out with families and sharing due to the nature of their environment and lifestyle.
