These lines are the words spoke by Hamlet in his conversation with Horatio. Before this conversation, Hamlet is seen entering the stage with his players for he has set a play within a play in which they are going to prove Claudius as the murderer of the king. Immediately after the players exit the stage, Polonius, Rosencrantz, and Guildenstern enter and start a conversation on which they agree to hurry the players get prepared and further agree that both the king and the queen will be present to watch the play. The three actors leave the stage too, Horatio enters, and the two engage in the conversation. It is in this conversation that Hamlet reveals to Horatio that he has set a play.
