Essay: Causes for the Disappearance of the Egyptian Empire

The Egyptian Empire is one of the empires in the history of the world. It was a famous and strong empire until its collapse in the mid twelfth century BCE that was the reign of Ramesses VI. This collapse, which is seen as one of the major ones in ancient history, is associated with depopulation of urban areas, collapse of the central authorities, illiteracy in Aegean and Anatolia and disappearance of the long distance worldwide trade patterns.

Other reasons are the increase internal power struggles by the elites and the reduction in the options of the elites as well as the general population (Adler & Pouwels, 2007, p. 484). There are also theories, which have been put forward to explain the reasons as to why the Egypt Empire collapsed.
