According to Gardner, choosing a student placement has to be done carefully as there are many choices to pick from. He insists that the place one selects should be a place where one will improve his or her skills in the preferred area of practice and also assist one to integrate class work with the practice he or she will be required to undertake.
The selected place should also give one the opportunity to be exposed to different areas so as to select the are one is best in (Gardner, 2006). My area of interest during my placement period is telephone counseling. With this in mind, I have selected Lifeline as my placement organization. This is because I believe this particular place will give me a high chance to improve my skills in counseling and psychology at large due to its high and direct clientele.
